1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Makkal Vote ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Makkal Vote is a non-partisan, informational platform that provides publicly available election data for Tamil Nadu. The App displays candidate information, constituency details, party manifestos, and election news sourced from public records and official sources such as the Election Commission of India (eci.gov.in).

3. Not a Government Service

Makkal Vote is developed by NH Labs, a private entity. The App is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to the Election Commission of India, the Government of Tamil Nadu, or any other government body. All data is provided for informational purposes only.

4. Eligibility

The App is intended for users aged 18 years and older (voting age in India). By using the App, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.

5. User Accounts

You may create an account using your phone number via OTP verification. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You may delete your account at any time from within the App (Menu → Delete Account).

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of election laws
• Attempt to access admin features or other users' data
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute the App's content for commercial use
• Impersonate the App or NH Labs in any communication

7. Data Accuracy Disclaimer

While we strive for accuracy, election data may contain errors or become outdated. Candidate affidavit data reflects the most recent publicly available filings and may not represent current status. We are not responsible for decisions made based on information in the App. Always verify critical information with official sources.

8. Intellectual Property

The App's design, code, and original content are owned by NH Labs. Election data sourced from public records remains in the public domain. Candidate photographs are attributed to their respective sources.

9. Advertisements

The App displays advertisements via Google AdSense (web) and Google AdMob (mobile). Ad content is provided by third parties and does not represent endorsement by NH Labs or Makkal Vote.

10. Push Notifications

The App may send push notifications about election updates and news. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the App.

11. Limitation of Liability

Makkal Vote and NH Labs are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use of the App, including but not limited to inaccuracies in election data, service interruptions, or third-party content.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
